July 25 – The Netherlands is facing some of the hottest days ever! The Amsterdam University of Applies Sciences-team monitors the climate comfort (PET) of a square in a shopping centre in Amsterdam. In the next few weeks a green (temporarily) intervention with benches will be installed. The AUAS-team follows the Cool Towns-protocol with monitoring the impact and hopefully this will enrich the Cool Towns-intervention typology.

A journalist from a Dutch national newspaper interviewed the team about this cool spot and Cool Towns where Breda and Middelburg are also mentioned. Read the article (in Dutch).

Also in Breda, heat measurements were taken in the city centre during these blistering hot days.
