In recent weeks, a lot of work has been done on the heat-resistant design for the Kanaalweg in Middelburg (NL). This impression clearly shows what the area surrounding the train station will look like in the future. More trees are being planted at the station square. In addition, a green roof will be placed on the bus shelters (transport hub). Compared to the current situation, the redesigned environment will be much greener. This makes the area much more attractive and comfortable to stay. In addition, all the extra greenery (in total more than 1800 square meters) ensures a considerable temperature reduction.
